Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026 · Terms of Use →

1. Scope

This policy applies to all professional service fees paid to Harun Raaj & Associates, Chartered Accountants ("the Firm") through the Website (harunraaj.com) or directly via invoice. It does not apply to government fees, statutory charges, stamp duties, or amounts paid directly to third parties on your behalf — those are non-refundable once disbursed.

2. Before work commences

If you cancel an engagement before the Firm has commenced substantive work, you are entitled to a full refund of any fees paid for that engagement. Requests must be sent to hr@hr-ca.com within 7 days of payment.

"Substantive work" means the Firm has begun document review, drafted correspondence, made representations to a government authority, or taken any step requiring professional effort on your behalf.

3. After work has commenced

Once substantive work has commenced, fees are not refundable except in the following circumstances:

(a) The Firm is unable to complete the engagement due to reasons within its control — in which case a proportionate refund of the unearned portion will be issued.

(b) The scope of work agreed at engagement is substantially reduced at the Firm's initiative — in which case fees will be adjusted to reflect the reduced scope.

Fees are not refundable on the basis of outcome alone. Professional services involve statutory processes, government authorities, and outcomes that are not entirely within the Firm's control.

4. Statutory deadlines and last-minute cancellations

Where work is time-sensitive (for example, income tax return filing, GST compliance, or MCA filings before a statutory deadline), cancellations after the Firm has commenced preparation may not be eligible for any refund, given that preparation effort cannot be recovered.

If a filing deadline passes due to information not provided by you in time, no refund applies and late fees or penalties are your responsibility.

5. Government fees and third-party charges

Government fees (MCA filing fees, Income Tax challans, GST registration fees, stamp duties, etc.) and amounts paid to third parties on your behalf are not refundable once disbursed, regardless of the outcome.

Where these charges have been collected but not yet paid, they will be refunded in full if the engagement is cancelled.

6. Retainer arrangements

Monthly or annual retainer arrangements may be cancelled by either party with 30 days' written notice. Fees paid for the notice period are not refundable. Fees paid beyond the notice period will be refunded.

7. How to request a refund

Email hr@hr-ca.com with your name, the service for which you are seeking a refund, the payment date and amount, and the reason for cancellation. We will respond within 3 business days.

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days. Refunds for payments made via Razorpay are subject to Razorpay's processing timelines.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated periodically. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Engagements are governed by the policy in effect at the time of payment.
